Henk van Ekelenburg

A Dutch entrepreneur based in Hengelo, The Netherlands, Henk van Ekelenburg has founded and managed a number of successful small enterprises, as well as administered several large international projects, including several funded by EU Framework Programmes.

After receiving his MSc in Mechanical Engineering (1984) and MBA (1987) from the University of Twente and working in industry for a number of years, Henk founded an innovation and engineering consulting firm, Pro Support.  Pro Support's mission is to assist innovative companies with their research and development efforts – in particular, with obtaining funding for their projects and providing non-technical activities to support this, such as proposal preparation, partner search, and project coordination.  Since its inception, Pro Support has helped research organisations, universities and SMEs prepare many proposals on a wide variety of subjects, and has compiled numerous large research reports.

A prolific author of over 20 technical books, Henk van Ekelenburg founded his own ePublishing company, EUReBOOKs, in 2006.  Their first eBook, The FP7 Coach: vehicle to success, explains to researchers and others interested in obtaining funding from the Seventh Framework Programme how to prepare a proposal that will maximise their chances of success – based on proven concepts.  This eBook contains >600 pages, >2500 links and cross-references, and ― is  written entirely in Microsoft Word.

The experiences during the writing of this book – bending Word to his will – and seeing so many researchers and other people struggling to write large documents in Word were the prime motivation for initiating Mastering Microsoft Word for Scientific Reports.

Born in 1957, Henk has a wife and three children and lives in The Netherlands.
